Since 2019, we have shared our story to inspire others going through hard times
Continuing Nathaniel’s Legacy
The third of five children, Nathaniel grew up surrounded by love, laughter, and adventure. He was a joyful child who loved BMX biking, skateboarding, and discovered an incredible talent for art. He brought light to the lives of those around him.
As he grew older, Nathaniel battled severe depression. Though often hidden, the weight of this darkness never stopped him from being kind and giving to others.
In February 2019, while walking through downtown Fort Worth, Nathaniel was stopped by a homeless man asking for help. Though he had no money, Nathaniel found another way to show kindness. He removed his shoes and socks, offering them to keep the man’s feet warm, and walked the rest of the evening barefoot in the cold. This was who Nathaniel was: selfless, compassionate, and generous.
Two months later, in April of 2019, Nathaniel lost his battle with depression. He was 29 years old. Although he left this world, his legacy lives on through Stay in the Light. Created in his honor, the organization carries forward his spirit of giving by helping others in need, just as Nathaniel would have wanted.
Through support, compassion, and acts of kindness, Stay in the Light uplifts families affected by suicide. Together, we carry Nathaniel's light forward, bringing hope to those who need it most.
